As the name suggests, single core cables have a single conductor that is constructed with aluminum or copper insulation. Although these cables have a single conductor, their thickness and gauge can vary. If the diameter of the cable is large, the flexibility achieved from it will be less.
Single core cables can be solid or stranded. The solid ones have a thick diameter and offer good rigidity accompanied with toughness. The stranded single core cables offer better flexibility than solid construction.
